My favorite film that he appears in at all is Robert Altman’s The Long Goodbye. But for purposes of this list, I have omitted that film and any other flick where he has a cameo sized role: Around the World in 80 Days, The Rundown, Scavenger Hunt, The Expendables series, etc. And I have not yet subjected myself to Terminator: Genisys, nor have I caught Sabotage.

1. Conan the Barbarian
2. The Terminator
3. True Lies
4. Pumping Iron
5. Predator
6. Twins
7. Maggie
8. Terminator 2: Judgment Day
9. Kindergarten Cop
10. Total Recall
11. Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines
12. Red Heat
13. Raw Deal
14. Running Man
15. Commando
16. The Last Action Hero
17. Red Sonja
18. Stay Hungry
19. The Last Stand
20. Jingle All the Way
21. Escape Plan
22. Collateral Damage
23. Eraser
24. The 6th Day
25. ”The Jayne Mansfield Story”
26. The Villain
27. End of Days
28. Conan the Destroyer
29. Hercules in New York (undubbed version)
30. Junior
31. Batman & Robin
32. Hercules in New York (dubbed version)

But that list may be deceiving, because after the top five, I don't really have much use for any of them. I don't find the likes of Commando "so bad that it's good", I just find it middling and dumber than dirt. Though if forced, I would choose it or even an ambitious dud like The Last Action Hero over generic, forgettable, interchangeable crud like Collateral Damage, Eraser, The Last Stand, and The 6th Day. But that top five, all darn good stuff, and I love me some John Milius Conan the Barbarian...though I'd rather watch Red Sonja or even the cartoonish misfire of a Western spoof The Villain than have to sit through Conan the Destroyer again.

Anywho, your mileage may vary.

Phil Hartman, Sinbad, and Arnie. Watch it every Christmas. Childhood favorite. I love it for completely different reasons now than when I was younger.

I recently caught the end of The 6th Day which I hadn't watched in years. Watching Arnold in a The Parent Trap situation was magical.

Welcome to the human race...
Whoa, I am genuinely amazed at how highly Holden rates Maggie (even if he says he doesn't care much about anything outside his top five).

Mine has to be Predator, if for no other reason than the brilliant script. Fine, plot wasn't outstanding, but the banter was awesome.
I think it has to be Predator for those reasons and more. It's just a fantastic film. I particularly remember loving the revelation about the mud, when Dutch is "making like a tree".

I'm also a real fan of what Schwarzenegger did in Batman and Robin. I think there was some nice character stuff in there despite the shocking dialogue, and he looked great in the makeup.
