Movie a Day by the Bay

You're rating for Con Air is too low, but I get it I need to re watch Vertigo myself, interesting that you didn't like it more, because that's what I always imagined happening to me as I watched it early on in my movie viewing days.

As a veteran colonel of the Grammar Nazi I demand you to fix this atrocity.

Agree with you on the way too low Con-Air rating.

The thing isolated becomes incomprehensible
Well, I still think it's the only movie I can TRULY enjoy from Hitchcock! I still need to watch Dial M for Murder and North by Northwest among many others, but movies like Rear Window or Psycho didn't convince me at all...

I'm very glad you liked it, neiba. I still think it's very good.

I'm ashamed at that mistake. I apologise.

Masterpieces, all masterpieces. I feel bad for people who don't love Hitchcock.

For some reason instead of North by Northwest, Dial M for Murder etc I think neiba will enjoy Rope.

Safety Last! (Fred C. Newmeyer & Sam Taylor, 1923) -

Great silent movie. This was my first Lloyd flick, and while I still prefer Keaton and Chaplin too, he was nonetheless a joy to watch.

The People vs. George Lucas (Alexandre O. Philippe, 2010) -

[REWATCH]

I really like this documentary. I think it's a fascinating look at the Star Wars fandom and the tragedy that is the special editions and prequels. But, it ends on a warm note - despite his flaws, Lucas gave us Star Wars, and the real fans will always love him for that.

Bonus:

THIS VIDEO:
(Don't watch if you haven't seen Under the Skin)

Very insightful video not just into what makes Under the Skin so damn good, but what makes cinema is general so awesome. It's ends up being all about one of my favorite things cinema can be. Ambiguous. Something, as the maker of this video points out, that is innate to cinema. It's a good case against those who diss ambiguity as stupid and pretentious. It's not. It's a natural extension of the medium. I just felt like sharing a video I really, really loved.

Greatest Sidekick Ever
Haven't seen Under The Skin and still waiting for the blu ray to come out. Damn, watching the trailer gives me a profound feeling about the story and I think it might have some similarities with The Tree Of Life. The score was truly haunting and it's kind of like very underrated in my opinion without it having an Oscar nod. But anyway, many have said it's going to be a masterpiece and I'm really looking forward to it.

Well, Jesse, I don't see any similarities to The Tree of Life myself. But I hope you like it! Science bitch!
