Questions about Goodfellas

1-why is Goodfellas rated 18
2-what would be th minimum age to watch it? would a 13, 14 year old be able to watch it?
3- is it a good film, or is it overrated
4-are some parts boring or is it entertaining and interesting all the way through?

In a nutshell, it's rated 18 due to swearing and the violence being realistic in nature.


A 14 year old though should be fine with it but depending on how much of a Cinephile they are, they may get bored by the long spells of not much happening. The film is based on a true story, and not to sound stereotypical but most 14 year olds like Michael Bay films.


Goodfellas is a cracking film though and if you can get a teenager to watch it, they'll be all the better for it when it comes to becoming a more rounded movie lover.

It's violent and the F-word is spoken about 1200 times. It's a great film, and if you want your thirteen-year-old telling you to stop busting their balls, then yes you let them watch it.

Yes, they would be able to watch it. I showed it to my 13 years old sister and she liked it a lot. It may not be a bad idea to have an adult person watch it with them, though, so you can offer some "guidance" when needed.

It's a masterpiece.
