Movie title?

Does anyone know this movie? It's set in like the 18th centruary and this guy is of to met his girlfriend/fiancé in a park because she wanted to go Ice-skate. He is late and she gets pissed because of it (and something about that he never buyes her flowers). They go to a darker, more private part of the park and a guy comes and kills the girl. The guy gets depressed and is determand to get her back so he builds a timemachine. He does it and saves her from the guy in the park, but she dies in an other way instead. He goes back and tries to fix it a couple of times, but she always dies on way or another. Then I don't really remember what happens. But later on he travels a couple of hundred years in to the future where the world is totally fu*ked up. The people are living in houses on the side of The cliff walls and there are some things that comes and kills/kidnappes the people.

Any clue?

Maybe The Time Machine, just a guess.

It has to be The Time Machine (2002) - but if you want a much better movie you should go and watch the original in my opinion.
