Most Overrated Movies

All good people are asleep and dreaming.
So Loner, how many of those overrated films on your list have you seen?
All of them.

Bright light. Bright light. Uh oh.
If that's the case, then I'd be interested in seeing your favorite films and your movie lists. You can access those from your personal profile and/or the lists icon at the top of every page. After I see those, maybe I'll ask you some personal questions about your overrated list.

Where have you been? Haven't seen you around for ages

That's cool.

Thanks nebs, I like your avatar.
What troubles me about is you got it off The Disney Channel.
It's not the first place I go for boot-shaking.

Starwars

Sin City

The Dark Knight
I don't think you appreciate the amount of work that goes into the action scenes in Sin City and The Dark Knight, which obliterate any action scene from Crank.

Wow, that's just sad.
Sin City was a load of crap! I turned it off in the first few minutes. If people want to squinch at the screen for two hours trying to see past the black and white that's fine with me, but i for one want to see the movie in something called "coulor". People say the director was paying tribute to the comic books, well exuse me, but he was not writing a comic book he was directing a movie and if you want it in black and white then read the bloody comic books! If the movie was filmed normall it would of been fine.

The Dark Knight was also overrated because like Scarface, people didn't like the actuall film but they liked the "coolness" of it. I don't mean that in all cases but most cases.

NOTE: When i said people didn't actually like the Dark Knight i didn't mean it as in it was crap, i ment it as people exagerated the goodness of it.

Most Tim Burton films. Again there is no reason to film the movie in a "dark" way. All it does is make it hard for people to see what is going on. Some people call it artistic, but it is not in any way shape or form.

Do i care how much effort it took to make the scenes? No way!

The only thing i care about is the end product. Crank had awesome action scenes it, that were tons better than the Dark Knights million dollar action scenes.

OK, we get it. You hate black and white films (why, because they AREN'T cool?) and you hate "cool" movies, but you love movies which are remakes or have the number "2" in the title. That's certainly your right, but when you criticize films, can you at least give some real reasons which don't all have to do with your obvious prejudices, and can you also actually try to spell words correctly and use proper grammar because it gives me a headache reading your posts. I'm not trying to be snarky here. This is honest constructive criticism.

No, no, no.

First off i don't hate old films because they are not cool, i hate them because my taste in movies does not center around them. If i saw an old film that seemed lame but i still liked it, i would say i liked it regardless.

Second, i think you are refering to Sin City when you mean "cool" movies. Sin City was not cool. People got put under the directors illusion that the film was "cool" because it didn't follow standerd American filming techniques. Just because it is diffrent it does not make it cool. Pulp Fiction was cool and it wasn't filmed in weird ways.

Best. Thread. Ever.

Where's Toose when you need him? I really need for him to come in here and officially piss all over this ridiculous thread.

Sin City was f*cking great btw, I mean, It's no Shawshank Redemption but still it was OK...

I'm saying you don't tend to care how well the action scenes are shot and edited - you mostly care about what is actually happening to the people in them.

Oh yeah , after talking about this in the shoutbox for awhile I tried giving it another try - and I just couldn't get past the god awfull airport scene and turned it off.

If only the movie looked as good as the poster ...

King of Movies I would like to know how you feel about the scene above.
