I watched the first season of this couple of weeks ago, and found it to be utterly charming & entertaining.
Only Brits are allowed to use the word “utterly”. As I did just a while ago.

Is anyone watching The Idol on Max? Boy, talk about talked about before it even began.

I thought the pilot was dreadful last night, but maybe I need to watch it again & sort out what’s happening. One horrible thing is Hank Azaria chewing the scenery & taking on a Russian gangster accent. WTH!

I had a quick look at what it was about but have no desire to watch it. Doesn't Lilly look like her mum though?

Yes. She’s a lovely young girl. Lovely face & a very cute figure.

I couldn’t make myself re-watch the pilot. Hope I made the right decision.

Watching series 1 of Deadloch, brilliant so far and it's a series I want to binge watch but you can't because one episode is released a week!

Three episodes to go, argh.

Never heard of this, but now it’s in my Prime watchlist.

Watched the first episode of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds and it appears the ST well might be running dry. There didn't seem to be much to excite or engage the imagination. It's handsomely mounted of course. All that Paramount+ money has to count for something. But it seemed more of a space (no pun intended) filler than a workable entry in the STU. Maybe the show settles in after a few more episodes. And I still want to check out Discovery and Picard.

Finding myself with nothing to do for 50 mins I watched episode 3. The show isn’t as bad as I first thought. Depp is very talented as an actress. The music is horrible.

I burst out laughing when one of Depp’s entourage referenced Robert Plant & nobody questioned the reference. I highly doubt whether any of them have heard of Robert Plant.

I don’t find the sex scenes to be shocking at all as some others do.

I couldn’t finish episode 5, the finale, it was so very bad. What the heck was Jane Adams doing in this show? Talk about mis-cast.

Saw the first two eps of Hijack.. so far pretty good.. I'd say 7.. 7,5/10.. it's all still very mysterious, so I'll keep watching..
I have it in my Apple TV watchlist, but it’s gonna be a while until I get to it.

Thanks for recommendation. Hijack suspense is intense. I can't wait to see what happens next.

I thoroughly enjoyed this bizarre, quirky but very original take on AI + adventure quest + comedy.

It takes a couple of episodes to truly understand what's going on, but it's all worth it.
I wish more people were talking about this.

Deadloch Series 1

Just watched the last episode of this brilliant series. Had a perfect ending and was very satisfied with the reveal of the killer or killers(no spoilers!)... didn't guess it for once.

Couldn't make it through the pilot. To OTT for my liking. Originally I thought this was Danish & then I thought it was British. Turns out it’s Australian. Funny thing about Aussies: terrific actors, but they do better with non-Aussie rôles IMO.

I thought it was slightly over the top especially with Eddie, I didn't like her at first but ended up loving her character, I nearly stopped after the first episode but very happy I stuck with it.

It's suppose to be slightly over the top because it's a parody on such shows especially the Danish/nordic shows according to the creators of Deadloch.

Loved it.

Right. I love the Nordic police shows. I’m probably missing out on something good with Deadloch. Also, I’m not too fond of lesbian sex onscreen to be perfectly honest.

Yeah, pretty fun. Honestly, if anyone here liked the utter weirdness of The Leftovers, season 3, it kinda continues with that vibe, but even sillier.

Probably gonna end up being a one-off, and maybe for the best. But I enjoyed it. Lindelof really lets the freak flag fly these days and it's pretty entertaining.

That bit at the start of episode one is the only sex onscreen in the entire series from what I can remember, just kissing from there on mostly between the lead and her wife.
