Coming in 2017: two short films and (maybe) another feature-length film. More details another time.

Haven't seen a topic on this, and I'm sure most don't care about this awards group, but I enjoy hearing about which films are just the worst of the bunch. Nominations are coming in later today (today for me, at least), so I figured I'd leave the pre-nom list here with an asterisk by those I'm predicting will be nominated (based mostly on word-of-mouth alone, (un)fortunately, due to not having seen the majority of these). Tyler Perry and that same old worn out wig in Boo! A Madea Halloween
OK, this actually made me laugh out loud.

Not sure if it's a good thing or a bad thing, but I have only seen one of the films nominated here and that would be Ride Along 2.
I've only seen one of those: Mother's Day,

Excerpt from my review of Mother's Day

Chick Flick! Alert!...I ain't just saying that because it's mainly about women, some of the best movies are mainly about women. This is a very light, girl picture, lots of girl talk and stuff girls would like, especially young moms. This should probably be required viewing for all women under 30 who have or will have babies.

Thane of Glamis, Thane of Cawdor, & King Hereafter
Okay, I'm awake and I just checked. Six nominees per category. That's a first! I've seen 3, 5, and 10, but not 6, so...yeah. How close was I...(asterisks by the ones I did guess right):

Worst Picture:
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice
Dirty Grandpa*
Gods of Egypt*
Hillary's America: The Secret History of the Democratic Party*
Independence Day: Resurgence
Zoolander 2

Three out of six, not bad. Honestly didn't expect BvS, but okay.

Worst Director:
Dinesh D’Souza and Bruce Schooley for Hillary's America: The Secret History of the Democratic Party*
Roland Emmerich for Independence Day: Resurgence
Tyler Perry for Boo! A Madea Halloween
Alex Proyas for Gods of Egypt*
Zack Snyder for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice
Ben Stiller for Zoolander 2

Dang, only two out of six. Oh well, I tried.

Worst Actor:
Ben Affleck for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice as Batman / Bruce Wayne
Gerard Butler for Gods of Egypt and London Has Fallen as Set and Mike Banning respectively*
Henry Cavill for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice as Superman / Clark Kent
Dinesh D’Souza for Hillary's America: The Secret History of the Democratic Party as himself*
Robert De Niro for Dirty Grandpa as Richard "Dick" Kelly*
Ben Stiller for Zoolander 2 as Derek Zoolander

Another 3/6. Okay. Kind of shocked by the lack of Efron for Dirty Grandpa.

Worst Actress:
Megan Fox for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows as April O'Neil*
Tyler Perry (as Madea) for Boo! A Madea Halloween as Mabel "Madea" Simmons (male actor playing a female character)
Julia Roberts for Mother's Day as Miranda Collins*
Rebekah Turner for Hillary's America: The Secret History of the Democratic Party as Hillary Clinton*
Naomi Watts for The Divergent Series: Allegiant and Shut In as Evelyn Johnson-Eaton and Mary Portman respectively
Shailene Woodley for The Divergent Series: Allegiant as Beatrice "Tris" Prior

Half-right again. Also, I believe this is the second time Perry's been nominated for the role of Madea.

Worst Supporting Actor:
Nicolas Cage for Snowden as Hank Forrester
Johnny Depp for Alice Through the Looking Glass as Tarrant Hightopp / The Mad Hater
Jesse Eisenberg for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice as Lex Luthor
Will Ferrell for Zoolander 2 as Jacobim Mugatu*
Jared Leto for Suicide Squad as The Joker
Owen Wilson for Zoolander 2 as Hansel McDonald

Only one prediction was right, and I only chose Ferrell because he's rarely ever good anyway! (Seriously, 2-3 decent roles plus a SNL skit. That's it.)

Worst Supporting Actress:
Julianne Hough for Dirty Grandpa as Meredith Goldstein*
Kate Hudson for Mother's Day as Jesse*
Aubrey Plaza for Dirty Grandpa as Lenore*
Jane Seymour for Fifty Shades of Black as Claire Black*
Sela Ward for Independence Day: Resurgence as Elizabeth Lanford
Kristen Wiig for Zoolander 2 as Alexanya Atoz*

Considering the fact that I had no idea six nominees would be chosen, I did excellent - 5/6!

Worst Screen Combo:
Ben Affleck and his BFF (Baddest Foe Forever) Henry Cavill in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice
Any two Egyptian gods or mortals in Gods of Egypt*
Johnny Depp and his vomitously vibrant costume in Alice Through the Looking Glass
The entire cast of once respected actors in Collateral Beauty
Tyler Perry and that same old worn out wig in Boo! A Madea Halloween
Ben Stiller and his BFF (Barely Funny Friend) Owen Wilson in Zoolander 2*

Only 2/6, but I'm glad to see the two BFF things end up here.

Worst Prequel, Sequel, Remake, or Rip-Off:
Alice Through the Looking Glass
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice
Fifty Shades of Black*
Independence Day: Resurgence
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows*
Zoolander 2

2/6 again, and I just realized...I predicted London Has Fallen to show up a lot, and it landed a nom in one category. Whoops!

Worst Screenplay:
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice - Chris Terrio and David S. Goyer
Dirty Grandpa - John M. Phillips*
Gods of Egypt - Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless*
Hillary's America: The Secret History of the Democratic Party - Dinesh D'Souza and Bruce Schooley*
Independence Day: Resurgence - Dean Devlin, Roland Emmerich, James Vanderbilt, James A. Woods and Nicolas Wright
Suicide Squad - David Ayer

Half-right again.

Overall, some of these were obvious while some were a bit shocking. I'll come back later (may take a couple days) with predictions for "winners".

Welcome to the human race...
D’Souza better win (or is it lose?)
I'd like to think so, it would certainly be more interesting than any of the aggressively generic blockbusters/comedies that make up the rest of the nominees.

In any case, looks like I dodged a lot of bullets here. The only ones I've seen are BvS, Suicide Squad, and Gods of Egypt. I actually sort of liked Gods of Egypt as a glittery load of camp and could almost respect BvS for committing so thoroughly to a flawed vision, but Suicide Squad was a straight-up mess. I contend that Sausage Party was "robbed", though.

Bright light. Bright light. Uh oh.
I'm pretty sure the Hillary movie is garbage - it's one of the few here I missed -but Zoolander 2 deserves every Razzie it's up for, although topicality may cost it some.

Why does BvS have so many nominations, as stated before I'm indifferent to the film and I think it does deserve some nominations, but Worst Picture when Nine Lives, Max Steel, Disappointments Room, and Norm of the North aren't nominated, what the actual f*ck.

I can see Batman V. Superman sweeping the awards.

You know how the Oscars don't always give awards to the actual best movies of the year? The Razzies are sort of the same in that they don't always reward the actual worst movie of the year.

Pfft, at this rate it's more likely to get a Best Picture nomination.

Yeah, it's more built around hype than anything. Which is why La La Land is gonna win best picture.

Well it is all completely objective, I'm just wondering how all these other films got completely over looked for their horrendousness.
