You can't win an argument just by being right!
I loved Charlotte's Web when I was a kid. I cant remember if it was a musical or not. Think I cried.

Ahh, I would have been about 5. I didnt get punished by the demonic nun during godspell until I was 8. This confirms for me why I dont like the genre.

No No I'm saying I loved that movie. My allergy to musicals came three years later. NUNS. It's why I renounced catholicism. this is all piecing together for me now.

This is such a breakthrough for me. I've pondered this allergy for years.

Ah, that makes more sense.

As my mom puts it, I was raised a heathen so religion has nothing to do with my aversion to musicals.

This was a revelation for me. Thanks for starting the thread, Sarge. I swear, I do all my best work at stupid o'clock in the mornings. I thought my aversion to musicals was because the last musical I watched with my mom before she died was Brigadoon, and she cried at the bitter sweet ending. That did not compute because I sometimes cry at bitter sweet endings and I like any emotional reaction to a film. Makes so much more sense now. It was the penguin who punished me for having fun acting in a musical. Biatch! (her, not you, MV).

This thread tests my stress levels... oh my.

Anyways, as much as I eventually rep people for coming clean, I sometimes really have go force my finger to the rep button. But hey, who is to decide what we watch, when we watch it or if we even watch it at all?

Anyways, some of mine:

Touch of Evil
Eyes Wide Shut
Witness for the Prosecution
M

The Sting
Annie Hall
8 1/2
The Warriors

Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid
A Streetcar Named Desire
MASH
The Grapes of Wrath
Pretty much all Monty Python
King Kong (original)

I kind of feel like some of these aren't "big" ones, but I find it hard to come up with the truly big ones... but at least there is a few major in between these.

For starters?

Point Break
The Lion King
Oh God man!
At least do you have watched Emmanuelle in Space?
The what what? Do you mean Emmanuelle as in...the soft porn series of films with Cerrone doing the music????

That's me having quiet conniption right now.

I want to rewatch some of these so would be happy to do a co-ordinated watch...

A friend told me I would love Sweeney Todd because it's really gory, and she knows I like Depp. Couldn't get through the first musical number.

ZING! It was the word 'confessional' in Sarge's title that did it. So triggered right now *loud crying face*.

This is highly amusing yet enlightening to me.

Hijack over. Resume normal broadcast. That's supposed to be a thumbsup but it didn't work. I'm going to hell for sure.

What's it called, Cat? I've seen the bugs bunny version of barber of seville if that counts.

Yeah, I think that movie has "second place" of my movies-I-cant-finish list...

First place is Gangs of New York. Five tries so far I think.

Probably the most notable movie I haven't seen-

This would've been my answer but i finally watched it a few months ago. Top 5 on IMDB Top 250 i haven't seen:

Life Is Beautiful (will at some point)
Interstellar (will at some point)
The Intouchables (this has an awful poster)
Modern Times (watching in the next few days hopefully)
The Pianist (will at some point)
