The other characters aren't much better - Ramis and Aykroyd seem to exist mainly as po-faced exposition machines for Murray to react against, Weaver is a beleagured victim who ends up being possessed, Rick Moranis serves as an awkward and talkative loser who drags down an already flatlining film and....
The Rodent
The movie starts with Ray Stantz, Peter Venkman and Egon Spengler (Dan Ayckroyd, Bill Murray and Harold Ramis, respectively) slacking off and taking a relatively lax approach to paranormal study at their university.
TheUsualSuspect
The exterior shots of New York certainly put this film is a certain time period, but even those exterior shots give the film a classic feel good vibe.
