Pan's Labyrinth really should have been nominated for best film, to my mind it's far and away the best of the year. Out of those that are up for it I'd have to go with Babel. Unfortunately I haven't seen enough movies this year for it to be worth me picking from the other categories.

Lets put a smile on that block
ACK! I'm still yet to see alot fo these films. Off to see Pan's tomorrow and then Venus at the weekend, so hopefully i can catch up!

It's too bad that Drew Barrymore isn't normally recognized for her work. If I had the option, I would put her on the best actresses list.

As usual, I haven't seen many of these movies yet either here in Korea.

In the Beginning...
After watching Babel, I've decided to change my "Best Supporting Actress" pick to Rinko Kikuchi. Not that I'm even convinced she'll win, but she ought to. Performances like that don't come 'round every day.

And although I'd love to see Inarritu get the "Best Directing" statue, because the subtle scope and complex organization of the film were handled flawlessly, I don't think Eastwood can escape the Oscars this year without winning.
