Well i have had the worst news ever lately. My mum was taken into hospital lately as she was ill. Fast forward a few days and we have been told she is dieing and only has a few days left to live. Words can't describe how i feel right now.
Thanks mate. Trying so hard to stay strong that it just felt good sharing it with others. I know everyone experiences a loss in there life at some point, so thought maybe someone may have shared a similar experience.
I went through a very similar experience when my father died. He was a very active person, but he just collapsed at home one day and was rushed to the hospital. By the time they got him to the hospital, he was in a coma, but it was already too late to save him. We were told the choices were to keep him on life support, and hope he comes out of it, but even if he did, he would basically be a vegetable, or we could just take him off of life support and let him die. My mother knew that he would not want to be kept alive by machines, so he was only kept alive for a couple of days to allow family members to say goodbye.
I know how difficult this is for you, but you will get through this. Just don't focus too much on what's happening now. Try to remember the good times. That's how you want to remember your mom, and that's how she would want you to remember her.
When my father died, after the funeral, we had dinner with many of our relatives, and we spent the entire time telling great stories about him. I heard some wonderful stories about my father that I had never heard before, and I told other relatives stories about him that they hadn't heard before. Some of the stories were very funny, and it made it much easier for everyone to get through it together.
