So as my kids started watching the recent animated show, The Secrets of the Mogwai, we decided to show them the OG, which obviously gave me the opportunity to revisit it after such a long time.

The chemistry between the actors is good, but there's a noticeable stranglehold on time which makes the emergence of dating feel extremely rushed, especially since Bill asks her out right after they were arguing (Over something pretty dumb, mind you).

This was a lot better that most of his movies because it was a horror movie that embraced the fact it was geared towards children and as such it should be treated like a children's movie.

Executive producer Steven Spielberg and director Joe Dante scored with a 1984 sleeper called Gremlins, a meticulously crafted send-up of 1950's science fiction movies that completely defies logic but never fails to provide the laughs that prove that the filmmakers are clearly in on the joke here.

Though the movie is seen as a big hit with kids by modern standard, at the time of release though, some cinemas actually banned it and warnings had to be aired to TV during trailers, warning people not to take their kids to see it.

Gremlins is a film that sets itself up with all the classic elements of Christmas films of years gone-by, and then gleefully sets about ripping them to shreds!
