As much as I may justifiably malign the films of Michael Bay in this thread, that should indicate that I would be better off notwatching his films, but no, I really had to know if his follow-up to the 2007 live-action Transformers film (which cracked my Worst 100 a few years back) really was as bad ...

This one doesn't even have the comedic timing down that the first one had. Overall, it was a disappointment to the first film.

This still remains as one of the best movie viewing experiences I’ve ever had.

It tries to make us believe that characters in peril are genuinely expendable, even though we all know better, and its most significant disclosure is in the film's first three minutes.

In short, Tranformers 2 is one hell of an action movie.

The film is so confused on what it's intentions are that it has to literally have one character ask the plot of the film from another.

Michael Bay is not known for making films rich in story, so in the end, you're really going to see huge robots battle each other throughout different continents.

Shame we can't have a Dark Knight every year.
