As many as you have probably heard, I think this movie is vastly over-rated. Don't get me wrong, I thought this movie was good, just not #15 on the IMDB.com top 250 as it once was, good.

No Country sees the Coens going back to their roots, and it reminded me straight away of Blood Simple, probably more due to the deep south setting, tone and genre of the film, and similar to Blood Simple is a decent cat and mouse film that just somehow misses the mark.

This is a good movie. Not as great as everyone would have you believe, but still really good.

The suspenseful action scenes are actually better the second time around , which really surprised me because they seemed so suspenseful before : once you know how it all goes down , it's really quite fast.

I've seen the film twice now in the past few days and nothing in it has disappointed me. The Coens have been so true in their adaptation, as far as films are able to be.

The suspense is built extraordinarily well - even in some of the more clichéd scenarios on offer. You'll probably spend at least two-thirds of the movie on the edge of your seat. I know I did.

All in all this film is great and certainly in the top ten films of the year. But, much like the character who can't call the coin for you, because it wouldn't be fair, I can't "tell" you to go see this movie...you have to call it (or see it) yourself.

There are some great, tense scenes of carnage in the cat & mouse pursuit, and while most do have that Coen stamp of dark humor and are so extreme they illicit laughter, this is not a comedy in even the way Fargo is.
