Instead of a cracked mind of the lone survivor in the back of a pick-up truck laughing manically as it speeds off down the road...we have a Tesla slowly driving away while one character looks back out the sunroof, dumbfounded as Leatherface swings his chainsaw around like a maniac.

Half a century later, the ninth film in the franchise finally delivers on the god damned promise of a Texas chainsaw massacre.

The notion of "not running", but rather doing something, is very much present in the film as it also brings us the sole survivor of the original film, Sally (Olwen Fou ), who famously managed to flee the scene of the crime.
