As Imhotep's powers begin to take over Helen's mind, her fiance and others rush to stop Imhotep and save her.

I actually think that the reason I like this film more that the other Universal Monster Movies is because of how much I love the monster.

While definitely a horror film, it's just as much a very tragic love story.
