The Blue Meanies take over Pepperland, draining it of all its color and music, firing anti-music missiles, bonking people with green apples, and turning the inhabitants to stone by way of the pointed finger of a giant blue glove. As the only survivor, the Lord Admiral escapes in the yellow submarine and goes to Liverpool to enlist the help of the Beatles.

This might sound like a backhanded compliment, but for the distractible state of mind that I was in, I loved that this was a movie that I could sort of fade in and out of without feeling like I had to rewind it to catch what Id missed.
Citizen Rules
Yellow Submarine is like one grand psychedelic music video that's loosly based on two different Beatles songs Sgt Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band and the of course the titular song Yellow Submarine.
