1960s Movies Appreciation Thread

Tools

Made a 50s thread, so I figured I'd move on forward with a 60s one.

The movie in particular that motivated me to make this thread is Point Blank (1967). Probably one of the earliest examples of an action movie that might not be so far away from the action movies of today:

Some other 60s movies I've liked:

One, Two, Three (1961)

Seven Days in May (1964)

The Night of the Iguana (1964)

Blast of Silence (1961)

Bullitt (1968)

True Grit (1969)

A Thousand Clowns (1965)

Easy Rider (1969)

Mirage (1965)

Dr Zhivago - AKA, Snow and Sex - Saw it years later with a girlfriend. It was somewhat long but definitely epic and explained to me that the Russian Revolution was there to silence poets among other things. I wanted my girlfriend to see me as the poetic Yuri rather than the puritanical Pasha Antipov, AKA, the bolshevik villain Strelnikov. I definitely did NOT want those glasses.
