Movies where you're meant to root for a character you don't like

Are there any films that try to make you sympathize or route for a character that you simply can't stand 🤔


Captain marvel is my pick.

I like Ferris Bueller, but I know a lot of people who don't.

Ferris Bueller (the character) is the best! I liked his life's philosophy that he quotes during the movie.

Do you subscribe to the theory that Ferris bueller is the other guys alter ego? Like Tyler Durden is in fight club 🤙

Same here. The argument is that he's an entitled jerk, but he's doing it all for his best friend and girlfriend's benefit much more than for himself. At the same time, I still sort of agree that Principal Rooney seems less and less like a villain as you get older.

Nah, I think he's real. The movie is a fantasy/real-life cartoon anyway. I mean, how could someone paint "Save Ferris" on a water tower and make it look that good that quickly?

Clive Owen is the villain on paper in Inside Man, but he's the most likable character in the movie.
