if ur a fan of james woods, as much as i do, with his over the top acting that i fail to forget in The specialist, anyway back on topic, the movie here is a 80s hard boiled cop film noir type of cop thriller, the movies that i absolutely love and are my favorite genre just behind james bond 007.
i always like to get back to rewatching this film is because of the oozing atmosphere since fhe first scene , u feel that noir cop thriller coming along to keep u on ur toes, and the who dunit feeling gets to u, james woods is amazing here as the cop investigating a murder , a weird one to say the least.
as a noir enthusiast i highly recommend this film, a movie made in an era where a male cop is the main man, add to that the seemingly bleak score it has, this one kept me asking who did it until the last scene, a great addition to the neo noir movies of the 80s.

I am the Watcher in the Night
I never even heard of this but I do like noir so I'll give it a go.

I keep hearing this guy is blacklisted? Is he? I don't think there are many great actors out there, but he's one of them.

Thanks for this recommendation. Love this era too.

On a related James Woods note I'll be watching Another Day in Paradise (1999) tonight for the first time. Very excited..
