Spoorloos (the vanishing)

This is a film I have really wanted to see for a long time. I have heard so much about it but it seems to be very difficult to track down and very few have heard of it. I can find the re-make but not the original version of it.

The story is of Rex and Saskia, a young couple in love, are on vacation. They stop at a busy service station and Saskia is abducted. After three years and no sign of Saskia, Rex begins receiving letters from the abductor.

It has been described as one of the creepiest films ever made and one that a critic I hold in high regard describe as a wonderful film. Has anyone seen it? Is it as good as I am led to believe?

Must be doin sumthin right
It's great. It's got an incredible atmosphere. According to movieforums.com it's the 79th greatest film of the 1980s. As far as finding it I mean it's widely available on DVD, it's available to rent or stream on Amazon and probably other places for $3 and you can download it illegally on pretty much any big private or public torrent tracker.

EDIT: see you're in the uk - you can still buy it, though!

Sorry if I'm rude but I'm right
It's good as long as thrillers go. If you expect transcendental experience you will be disappointed, but if you just want to see a good thriller it's a good option. Not too creepy, though. Cargo 200 is way more disturbing.

Weird that I rated it
. Would swear it was
