I remember reading the article in question with Lucas and Spielberg. I think they are over blowing it. But I do think there will come a time when these insanely expensive blockbusters will die out.

Piracy is one major reason that is killing the movie industry as well as the gaming industry.
Unless you make the DVD's reasonably priced, who would buy them? Services like Netflix, Hulu don't have huge database for movie freaks. I am not even sure, Netflix service are available in all countries.
South east Asia would probably be the biggest bootlegging sector in the world. That is what i know of. But its gonna go on like this unless something gives.
