So I fell asleep watching this old horror film on IFC

Ok, so the movies starts out with a man and his young son, and the man's friends(or crew) out on a boat. I think the boat gets shaken and the son falls in. They attempt to try and pull him out of the water but he is pull under by an unseen monster. The all that comes up is blood. Can anyone tell me what the name of this movie is?

How long ago was this when you fell asleep, if it's fairly recent I can go back on my Tivo about a week.

It has been a long time ago but I am pretty sure I watched this on IFC, called Humanoids from the Deep, I don't remember to much about it but I think parts match your description.
