There's a lot of great ones but since no one ever gives it recognition I'll nominate Cooley High as a great high school movie. Terrific soundtrack too.

Miss Vicky's Loyal and Willing Slave
Nice call with Heathers Mark. I think I'd have to go with Breakfast Club as the ultimate school film

Another one I like is Brick, even if it's quite different to most high school films. And to help represent Scotland I'll throw in Gregory's Girl. Also enjoy Mean Girls and Rushmore

And even though it's not the main element of the films Donnie Darko and Back to the Future both have some great school aspects

Keep on Rockin in the Free World
strangely enough Mark F failed to mention the classics

The Principal (1987)

Fast Times at Ridgemont High (1982)

also, best TV shows set in and around school imo are :

Degrassi

Square Pegs

and my personal fave

The White Shadow

I'll second a few that have been mentioned already.

Zero for Conduct
Brick
If

And a few others:

Baby It's You
Carrie
Fighting Elegy

The Breakfast Club (obviously) Clueless, Heathers and If... are brilliant choices. I love Scream, but have never thought of it as a high school movie. No reason it shouldn't be here, though.

+ rep to mark for adding Goodbye Mr. Chips. Wonderful film and one I, almost certainly, wouldn't have remembered to add myself.

My own additions to the list.

Class Of '84

Cruel Intentions

The Faculty

And, if it counts, Kes

Keep on Rockin in the Free World
couple others i thought of.

School Ties with Brendan Fraser and a very young Matt Damon and Ben Affleck

Making the Grade- Much funnier if you or someone you know attended private school.

Class

"Dazed and Confused"
"Grease"
"American Graffiti"

Miss Vicky's Loyal and Willing Slave
Yeah well done with The Faculty HK! Forgot about it even though it's on my top 100 list. Didn't realise you were a fan of it as well

I'm shocked Wes Anderson's Rushmore was only mentioned once and Todd Solondz's Welcome to the Dollhouse not at all. I'm not surprised nobody listed the satirical Lord Love a Duck, but I like it a lot. And if we're gonna drag TV shows into this, "Freaks and Geeks" rules the school.
