Intresting Picks that's for sure I won't have either in MY TOP 100 but I love Indian Runner so much more than Pink Flamingos.

Which I thought was sick & twisted plus i'm not into John Waters films. They feel too forced and his intentions comes across as pure shock value he doesn't just fall back on it he uses it every inch the way. This is my intrupation of his films. It seems that the only real fullfilment that is presented, is his choice of characters and some of the situations he puts them in.

I do like Serial Mom,Cry Baby & Pecker but that about as far as I go and those are his more main stream type films stylistisly and storyline wise.

Back to Indian Runner since you dig this movie I suggest you rent [i]Crossing Guard, The (1995) & Pledge, The (2001) out of the three my fav goes to The Crossing Guard.

Cheers

I agree with the shock value attempt with Waters' films. I do like Pink Flamingos, however, because it is very genuine. It is almost charming in it's raw, genuine filth. It is basically a really shocking documentary. Speaking of documentaries, I forgot to list my favorites. The documentary is probably my all-time favorite art form.

1) The Thin Blue Line (Errol Morris)
2) Dr. Death (Errol Morris)
3) Fast, Cheap, and Out of Control (Errol Morris)
4) When We Were Kings
5) Crumb
6) Lions of Darkness (Beverly & Derek Joubert)
7) Coney Island

Thanks for the info on those films. I'll keep an eye out for them.

Welcome to the site Karl Childress

Excellent choice for Fav Documentary

My favorite Documentary is The Thin Blue Line it shows you just how power film is and how it can bring change to real events in history.

I had this really weird feeling after watching it the tape recording at the end was chilling & haunting, It gave me the shivers and the movie stayed with me for a long time.

I own Dr. Death on VHS but I haven't seen yet and since we both have the same favorite in the number one spot you've got me really intrested in watching this puppy.

Just wondering since you threw down those other lists what are your Favorite Horror and westerns thanks

Cheers

The Errol Morris documentary about the odd little man who retrofits prison death houses and eventually testifies in a case that scientifically the Holocaust didn't happen is called Mr. Death: The Rise and Fall of Fred A. Leuchter, Jr. (1999), and not Doctor Death.

If you're interested, HERE is a thread devoted specifically to favorite documentaries.

And welcome to MoFo, Karl. "Some people call it Hell, I call it Hades."

BTW, as a fan of Sling Blade you misspelled the lead character's last name. Don't know if that was intentional or not, but it is "Childers", not "Childress".

You heard right, Pink Flamingos is definitely weird! I don't really care for Jon Waters stuff in general. Serial Mom is okay.
