Yeah... It was. But are we separating between Northern Island and Republic of Ireland?

Yeah! You are right.

But i have to say, the list would be bigger, i think if we thought "Scottish" influence.

And if you say English... it would turn out to list of more than 100 movies.

The Wind That Shakes the Barley is a tough watch but a brilliant movie.

Not an easy one for me, but I'd chose Kill the Irishman, Gangs of New York and The Quiet Man.

Waking Ned

The Boondock Saints (1999)
In the Name of the Father (1993)
The Boys & Girl From County Claire (2003)
Going My Way (1944)

Many good ones are already listed. I liked these two...

A Prayer for the Dying (1987)
The Devil's Own (1997)

The Quiet Man (Irish setting and culture, plus The Duke)
Maureen O'Hara was gorgeous in that film. I have a sneaking suspicion that Victoria Smurfit's character in Ballykissangel owed a lot to her .

A recent one would be The Daisy Chain. I've also just watched The Eclipse, which was very good.

Also technically telly but a nice bit of early Doyle ...
The Snapper
