Song Tournament # 8 The Mega Tournament

Chappie doesn't like the real world
And the Winner Is:

The Doors ~ People Are Strange

Congrats again, Derek. You sure seem to know what to nominate to win these things.

Congrats to you as well, Cricket. Zombie was a dark horse and I'm glad that something a little different made it so far.

This was the biggest song tournament as of yet, so to get your nominations in first and second place is quite the accomplishment.

Chappie doesn't like the real world
I haven't been online all day because our whole neighborhood hasn't had power all day today, so I'm just now reading this, but I'm glad to see that someone is listening to my suggestion. Personally, I think it would be more interesting to see how the results differ in the Movie Song Tournament because that tournament was run so rushed, and many people didn't get a chance to vote. (Sorry SC. )

BTW, if the votes haven't been calculated in this tournament yet, my vote is for The Doors - People Are Strange.
That's really typical for a Sexy tournament.

It would be an interesting experiment, I think, but in order to really compare the results the exact same people would have to be involved. I doubt that would happen.

Regardless, I think the next song tournament I run, I will try your method.

Thanks Derek and Christine; I think these tournaments are a lot of fun. For the record, the song I would've voted for til the end if it made it further, was Paradise City.

I never would've thought that these would be the last two songs standing. It's strange how these things turn out. I bet we could re-do this tournament and just switch up the match-ups and we'd get a completely different winner every time.
It'd be very different. As I've said before, these tournaments are all down to the draw/pairings.

But I was sorta feeling like Godoggo and the others who think there's just been too many old songs from like the 1960's winning these things.
That's because of the people who're doing the voting and the familiarity we have with them. Also, even f we each nominate one or two they'll usually make up a quarter of the field. Whenever they go up against anything we don't like/care for or simply are unfamiliar with, more often than not we'll give it our vote. It's just how it works.

Do you know what pisses me off? I realized last night that "People Are Strange" isn't even sung by The Doors in The Lost Boys. It's a version by Echo & The Bunnymen. And it sounds horrible compared to The Doors' version. I thought I was voting for this song because it's in The Lost Boys, and actually, it's not!
How the hell did you not know it wasn't The Doors version?

Congrats to Derek and cricket.
5-time MoFo Award winner.

Because I just didn't remember the song from the movie well and I didn't have the knowledge that there were two versions/one made for the movie. When I heard The Doors version, I just thought... that's the LOST BOYS song.

I love LOST BOYS, but I don't know everything about it like I do some movies. I haven't watched it hundreds of times.
