What are your favorite/least favorite flicks to come out of 2014 sofar

Tools

My two favorites have been XMen Days of Futrue Past and Locke. Haven't watched as much as I normally do though. Biggest disappointment was the Lego Movie. Was really expecting something of Pixar quality, and it was maybe a six. Very few actual jokes, but a lot of "clever" cut aways and quips. Too loud as a whole.

Worst movie I've seen was The Immigrant. Terrible acting from a wonderful cast, boring, hollow, and melodramatic.

favorite is X-Men : Days Of The Future Past and The Grand Budapest Hotel

least favorite : Devil's due

1. The Grand Budapest Hotel by Wes Anderson
2. Journey to the West by Tsai Ming-Liang
3. Only Lovers Left Alive by Jim Jarmusch
4. Nymphomaniac by Lars Von Trier

I havent seen much from 2014 and most of it have been mediocre imo. Though i was pleasantly surprised by The Grand Budapest Hotel, which i actually think is the best Wes Anderson movie, despite its quirkyness

Least Favorite: Captain America the Winter Soldier

Favorite: Need for Speed and That Awkward Moment

Woah, I forgot about Jarmusch's new film. I need to check that one out.

And Budapest is close to the top of the Anderson list, too, my favorite since Life Aquatic. Definitely his funniest, IMO.

Im not so sure i can personally recommend Only Lovers Left Alive as i was really turned off by the thematics of the movie. But yeah if you like artsy hipster vampires combined with a good visual flair it might be something for you

If i had to rank Wes Andersons movies it would probably be something like this:

1. The Grand Budapest Hotel (2014)
2. The Royal Tenenbaums (2001)
3. Rushmore (1998)
4. The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou (2004)
5. Fantastic Mr. Fox (2009)
6. Moonrise Kingdom (2012)
7. The Darjeeling Limited (2007)
8. Bottle Rocket (1996)

Finished here. It's been fun.
Favorite:The Double

Least Favorite: Nymphomaniac

As for ones I didn't like or found disappointing:

The Immigrant
Rage/Tokarev
3 Days To Kill
Cheap Thrills

That's really all I can think of, I either haven't seen many really rubbish films yet or just can't remember them.

Go Agead, Make My Day
Least Favorite, Sabotage, I expected something much better from David Ayer.

Favorites,The Bag Man, Better Living Through Chemistry and The Raid 2

Favorite so far: X-Men DoFP

I still need to catch Captain America 2 when it comes out on blu-ray. The Grand Budapest Hotel was fun. 22 Jump Street hilarious as expected. Godzilla was a decent blockbuster.

Actually don't think I've seen a bad movie this year. Although I do steer clear of poorly reviewed movies.

^Actually it was my dad's idea to watch it and I decided to go with him to see if the series had improved since the first movie (spoiler: it hasn't). Still, my dad dad will watch pretty much anything as long as there's lots of action in it and he really enjoyed the movie.

I'm not old, you're just 12.

-Captain America the Winter Soldier
