Anyway, back on Labyrinth:

I See You When You're Sleeping
For Beale. God I need to get to bed too, it's 4.30 am!

Within You

How you turned my world, you precious thing
You starve and near exhaust me
Everything I've done, I've done for you
I move the stars for no one
You've run so long
You've run so far
Your eyes can be so cruel
Just as I can be so cruel
Though I do believe in you
Yes I do
Live without the sunlight
Love without your heartbeat
I, I can't live within you
I can't live within you
(sigh)
I, I can't live within you

I love all those movies and grew up renting them over and over again. I love the part in Return to Oz when her friends turn into green objects in that cave and she has to go in and guess which objects they are. I also like the Wheelers. Very cool concept.
You forgot the Neverending Story
and Flight of the Navigator. Unless you didn't like those movies.
Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory proves to be one of those classics that never grows old and tiresome.
The last time I watched the Dark Crystal, I was all in a hurry to get to certain parts. I knew that the mood of the movie had changed for me. I wasn't as lulled by it's charm. The same with Willow. It was different watching it as a kid a thousand times than once as an adult. Hmmm...

What about Big Trouble in Little China?

I should see that movie again because I saw it at a young pre-teen age and I didn't get the story and the powerful foreign men scared me.

Well it's a must have if you love fantasy, it combines those themes with comedy and action.

Did you remembered the flying meatball creature with eyes all over it? the hairy predator-like creature? and the inflating man who became a garbage pail kid then explodes into green leafy salad?

Ever seen " Making Contact"? it's this very overlooked little seen German horror fantasy about this kid who's dad died then suddenly gets telekinetic powers and battles an evil ventriloquist dummy possessed by an evil spirit and demons.

Re Legend: There are some things about this film that I like, but what is up with the score??? So bad...

Not one of Scott's best, to be sure.

Whoever did the track with the super cheesy electric guitar in it. I like a lot of the set design, and some of the characters in the film, and watch it when it's on cable, but the score kills me everytime.

Ridley Scott's Legend rather infamously had two cuts, which basically came down to one for North America and one for the rest of the world. The one in the U.S. was shorter and had that godawful Tangerine Dream score. The version the rest of the world saw was a few minutes longer and had a wonderful score by Jerry Goldsmith (Chinatown, Alien, Star Trek: The Motion Picture, The Omen).

The special edition R1 DVD has the restored cut and music. It makes Legend a much better film, though overall still a disappointment in Ridley's early filmography (it's no BladeRunner or Alien, that's for damn sure).

Hmm... I've never seen it on cable so I don't know which one they use ... I always liked the one by Tangerine Dream though... sounds a lot like Yes...

Damn right.

I will check out the other cut though, as I do like the film, and would like to see it without the annoyance of the poor score. I guess I may have to get that DVD now...

Hey, what about King Kong ( 1933), Last Unicorn and Secret of NIMH? those are also great fantasy flicks.

And what about Roland Emmerich's underrated 1985 German horror fantasy " Making Contact" ( a.k.a. Joey)?
