Top 10 Post 2000 movies - That might become Classics

Tools

Hi All

hope you are all well

i was thinking the other day, i was trying to think of atleast 10movies that was made post 2000 (year) that might go down in history as classics that we can compare to the like of "The Great Escape - which i personally think is 1 of the best movies i have ever seen or that was made" 1 day :?

i know its a bit unfair to come 10years 2000-2011 to 40years being 1960-1999
but if you think about it, today we have all the technologies and actors to make good films.....

i tried to do this but only manage to think of 3movies :? they others are just before 2000 :?

Here are my choices and they all mostly play off 100years ago
Troy
Gladiator
Enemy at the gate
The law Abiding Citizen

6th sense and bone collector just mis out as they being classified as in 1999 :?

maybe if you guys can add a few movies it might help

2001 - Monsters, Inc.
2003 - Finding Nemo
2008 - Wall-E
2009 - Up

That's all I got without thinking really hard. And if you have to think really hard, odds are it isn't "classic" material to start with.

Future classics: The Departed, No Country for Old Men. Well, these 2 are already better than the ones you mentioned so I'll stop there.

I thought people had already forgotten about No Country for Old Men.

I'd go with:
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
Inglorious Basterds
Sharktopus

The Fountain
Mulholland Drive
The Dark Knight
Amelie
Brotherhood of the Wolf
Donnie Darko
Brick

Good whiskey make jackrabbit slap de bear.
American Psycho, maybe? Or maybe not, considering it's already a classic.

Others I might choose:

Sexy Beast
Gangs Of New York
The 25th Hour
Superbad
Signs
Unbreakable

The Dark Knight
Gladiator
Avatar even tho i aint a big fan.

thats all i got.

Not sure if I could pick ten, but Memento and The Royal Tenenbaums haven't been mentioned yet.
Thanks for saying Memento for me. The last time I mentioned Memento, it became a 3 day debate.

Finished here. It's been fun.
Mulholland Drive
Children of Men
In Bruges
City of God
There will be Blood
Pan's Labyrinth
Lord of the Rings trilogy
Oldboy
No country for old men
The Pianist

There's quite alot to be honest.

Sorry if I'm rude but I'm right
Two 2011 releases:

Drive (it's obvious - in 20-30 years it will be for people like Taxi Driver is now)

Tree of Life (it has a chance to become 2001 of our century; cinematographers will learn from this movie)

Not sure of I could make a Top 10... but:

Gladiator
LOTR Trilogy
Nolan's Batrilogy (similar to the first two Reeve Superman films)
Life Of Pi
Pan's Labyrinth
WALL-E
The Cornetto Trilogy (mostly Shaun Of The Dead)
Dredd (possibly in the same way that RoboCop or Blade Runner have)
No Country For Old Men
Kick Ass
Pitch Black (not the sequels though)
