The Top 100 Movie Stars Countdown

Tools

I gave Reps to both Sexy's and GBG's last post....Why?
Because I can see that a slower countdown can be fun and allow more interaction... AND I can also see that a 'quickie' can be a fun way to spend Thanksgiving. Besides it beats watching football all day long in one's underwear.

We can always have a Top Movie Star countdown next week or next month. You know The Sequel....errr I mean a Reboot.

I understand the argument both ways. However, as SC said, this is this thing. This is what he does. It's not bad, it's just different. But it can be really annoying when you miss it. Especially if you're expecting something different. I had a good time with it last night, but SC's list are best enjoyed, IMO, when you're about and can take part. It's being there for 3 or 4 hours and commenting, then it's done. As he said, it's a quick fix. Personally, I don't mind reading through these threads even if I miss them, but there's no doubt that being involved is the best experience of them.

My list, which I knocked up as quickly and carelessly as I think most should for one of these SC lists.

19. Christian Slater
I didn't expect anybody else to vote for him.
I almost did, but changed my mind.

Is the full list going to be posted on page one?
Probably later today.

Good to see Claire Danes get a nod. I usually always like her in her movies and she is the:
undisputed champion crier, nobody cries on cue like Claire.
Yeah, she cries wonderfully doesn't she? I can only think of two other actresses that cry like that.

Kim Valentine and Carla Bonner from Neighbours. Both complete crying machines who, because they did it so well, spent much of their screen time in misery.

I wonder if I could've filled my list with Neighbours alumni?

Make a better place
Great work Sexy!

Thank U

missed this thread being with family the last couple days, & now the internet went out at my place so i'm posting from my iPad & won't be able to create an elaborate 'image ballot.' Jack wins !

looks like the actors/actresses to not make the Countdown from my list were Wilford Brimley, Robert Englund, Cheech Marin, John Saxon, Sharon Stone, Kim Cattrall, Errol Flynn & Olivia De Havilland

*fistbump* to HK for being the other to help get Heather Langenkamp on the list

5. Kurt Russell
6. Gong Li
7. Toshiro Mifune

that's Tatsuya Nakadai, from Harakiri (1962), not Toshiro Mifune

I have added a complete list of The Top 100 Movie Stars to the first post of this thread at the bottom.

that's Tatsuya Nakadai, from Harakiri (1962), not Toshiro Mifune
*GASP* How come Kaplan didn't say anything?

I will fix that.

I missed out a lot of peeps. Like Dustin Hoffman and Paul Newman for example, probably many others, but here's my list that I made quickly:

  6. Marlon Brando
  7. Al Pacino

  25. Gene Hackman

Looking over the top 100 there are loads I missed actually. Reading GB's thread about doing a proper version of this has made me think it won't be such a bad idea as this thread would be a great reference point for a lot of users to use as like a pool of options too help them choose their final list.
