EXCUSE ME! But there was NO NEED to quote that whole list like that!

Chappie doesn't like the real world
damn, love that movie. i can already kinda sense i may be wasting a spot by including it

Naw. If you love it, include it. Even if it doesn't make it, it's better to have an honest list.

I'd like to mention a film that's not from the 80s that deserves some recognition. The Phantom Carriage. It provided some inspiration for a very well done scene.

Sorry if I'm rude but I'm right
People were strategically voting in here? You gotta be kiddin' me. It's supposed to be an honest list.that shows our real favorites.

From my unsent list (page 8 of this thread) - 16/25

A nice list, but nowhere impressive from what I've watched. Then again, I should watch a lot more. I have this decade very unexplored and have missed many relevant and defining movies.

Aaand, here's my totally non-strategic list.

The Brother From Another Planet
My Dinner With Andre
I had two John Sayles films that were in my mix but didn't make the twenty-five, in Matewan and Eight Men Out. And I actually had My Dinner with Andre as my number twenty-five, but switched it with Full Metal Jacket at the last second. Not that a single point would have helped much, but I feel ya.

because it's better to have an honest list of your favorites than changing your list to manipulate the outcome.
i don't see a problem with strategizing, as far as boosting movies -that you aren't sure will make the list- higher than you may normally put them.. while putting movies you know will show up and high on the list anyways, lower... examples from my 80's list:

i like Terminator, Raiders, Empire, & Back to the Future, more than:

#7. They Live
#8. Fright Night
#10. Escape from New York
#12. the Last Starfighter
#13. the NeverEnding Story
#15. Star Trek IV: the Voyage Home
#17. Caddyshack
---
#18. the Terminator
#20. Raiders of the Lost Ark
#21. the Empire Strikes Back
#22. Back to the Future

in these cases, my strategy failed to make a difference, as the above all missed out. while i knew that Empire, Terminator & Raiders weren't going to take a hit beforehand, & they all ended up finishing Top 5

didn't get those particular movies in, but i don't see that the strategy i had as particularly dishonest.. bc i wanted those movies to make the list.. & the only power i had to increase their chance was to sacrifice certain movies i already knew would do well

A system of cells interlinked
Love the card trick on the train in Brother from Another Planet...
