The 50's are my second favorite decade for movies...I don't know if I can narrow it down to 5, but some of my favorites from the 50's:

1. Throne of Blood

Sweet Smell of Success would mandatory viewing based on the Bernstein score alone. Goodfellas couldn’t make being a thug look this cool.
I loved the music in Sweet Smell of Success too.



I can't make a list as there's way too many 1950s films I love. So I'll limit it to film noir which is my favorite genre.

CR, do you consider Ace in the Hole to be film noir? There have been so many "trapped miner" movies that they almost have their own classification..
