Bright light. Bright light. Uh oh.
Claude Monet, White Water Lilies

Vincent van Gogh, The Portrait of Dr. Rey (my favorite van Gogh portrait; too bad I can't share my personal, larger one.)

Pablo Picasso, Harlequin and His Companion (completed when he was 19.)

I am half agony, half hope.
That's a nice Picasso, Mark. I don't care for his work, usually, unless it's from his Blue period like Harlequin and His Companion. I have The Tragedy poster hanging in my room to use as a writing prompt.

I'm only beginning to appreciate some of the classics, I do love a lot of the more darker and mystical in nature type of art. I'm a huge fan of Royo and the like. I love Monster's and Hot Chicks (sorry about the Hot Chick's thing, I'm a pig, I admit it.)especially if they are together. Royo has a lot of them together so that would be why he's one of my favorites. He has a lot of stuff that's pretty blue so I'll just put up some of his stuff that's a little more PG-13. H.R. Giger is also great, I've got a lot of his stuff on my desktop but it probably wouldn't be appropriate here.

These first 4 are all Royo...

I also really like some of the Fastner and Larson stuff...

Greg Ryman is also just fantastic if you like beasties and babes... I just wish he'd do more in color.

This is from Simon Bisley, I just think this is really cool...

Please fell free to edit these if they are to blue, I tried to go with a few that didn't have to much nudity. But that's what I like so I just wanted to put up a couple of examples. If it's not to blue let me know I've got some great stuff and would be happy to post more. I just don't want to be accused of turning this into a porn thread.

Ed Hopper was one of my heroes in art school. I'm not a big Goya fan but Brujos is the most frightening painting I've ever seen. And I'm a snob, so fantasy art is icky to me. Sorry!

Hello Salem, my name's Winifred. What's yours
hopper rocks my socks off, i have a poster of Nighthawks in my room and i hope to get 'New York Movie' too. see below

love BANKSY - if you've never seen his stuff before he's like a rogue graffiti artist and they're always trying to catch him. His stuff is amazing, i recommend his book.

one of my top favourite paintings ever, i totally love this, henri rousseau Tiger in a tropical storm surprised

Bright light. Bright light. Uh oh.
I haven't posted anything of Leonardo's becuse the guy is just so famous for the Mona Lisa, The Last Supper and all his diagrams of the human body and flying. I truly believe he was a metagenius, plus he wrote all his notes backwards (as if he was looking in a mirror). OK, well, even so, I've found some lesser-known Leonardos which deserve some love, I believe.

When I originially did a search for art threads, I thought there was another one but for some reason, it didn't show up on my search... several members have posted in it recently though, so I thought I would add the link here...
