I'm a movie fan, but I've never seen...

Tools

Put me in your pocket...
RAGING BULL, REQUIEM FOR A DREAM, GOODFELLAS, AMELIE, TAXI DRIVER, THE GRADUATE, GODFATHER, LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL. Shame on you, these films are MUST, MUST, sees. After you watch these films listed, come back on here and tell me I wasn't right.
Hehe.....you could be right Travis, but Goodfellas and The Godfather just aren't my type of film....no matter how well done they may be. I've seen The Godfather, but not the The Godfather II & III. I discovered at a very early age that this genre of film isn't for me.
To each his own.

Haven’t been able to bring myself to watch these, though I know I eventually will...
Saving Private Ryan...I know...shame on me once
Schindler's List...shame on me twice
The English Patient
Pearl Harbor
Courage Under Fire
Spiderman (w/ the kids)
In the Mood For Love

May eventually see...
Memento
Men of Honor
Contact
Traffic
Swordfish
Out of Africa
Gladiator
The Green Mile
Life is Beautiful
Martial Art flicks
There are alot more, but I can’t think right now, and the list would be too long if I did remember.

Will probably never see...
(not because I think they are bad...just not interested.)
Training Day
Goodfellas
Scarface
Air Force One
Blow
The Rock
Pulp Fiction
Braveheart
Apocalypse Now
Casino
The Shining
Deer Hunter
Monster's Ball
Vanilla Sky
Raging Bull
Leaving Las Vegas
and of course..........Tomb Raider and Glitter

I avoid anything with....
Steven Segal
Angelina Jolie
Billy Bob Thornton
Violence/Slasher/Horror movies

Two of my favorites. The ending to Blow breaks my heart every time I see it.

Hey Aniko, no offense, but your parents must have done a really good job parenting you, when you were growing up. Few and far between are people TRUE movie fans, while also uninterested in violence in films.
If I were to guess, you grew up in a small town, with a stay at home mother, who sheltered what you saw on film... and they forced you to play some sort of instrument .ie piano.

Usually the hardcore movie fans are sparked on to the passion for cinema because of a lack of parenting.

Like I said, no offence, I'm just usually good at reading people, and your right to each their own.

By the way, rent CONTACT, a very underrated film.

I just noticed this. DON'T DO THAT!!!! He's great. Give Sling Blade, A Simple Plan, and The Man Who Wasn't There a chance. They are all very exceptional films.

Gah, all i've done is re-watch Snake-eyes since i started posting here!! Watchin too many docs damn it (and making my own little baby too. Passionate, time-consuming business. As the italian song goes [with diff sp]...atenccione, concentraccione, ritmo e....vitalidad.) Now i've established my credentials as a pseudo-italian speaking film buff, here's a brief list of shame...

The English Patient
Ghost in the Shell
Saving Private Ryan
Pearl Harbor
Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon (or whatever it is)
Anything by Alomodovar, (despite living in spain for a few years. the shame)
The CIA's training videos of Osama and Saddam

Only watched in pieces....

Casablanca
Schindler's List
2001 (if i have watched it all the way thru i was in a trance)
Citizen Kane (have woken up to the "rosebud" bit at least once, non the wiser)
Oh, and i was so sleep-deprived watching Amelie that i just couldn't keep my eyes open for the last scene. No idea what happened!

...off to ear-gurgle babel-fish

I think the biggest film that I have not seen yet, is "Seven Samurai". For some reason, fate keeps playing a part in that one avoiding me. "Gone With The Wind" I know is an essential film, but the four hour running time keeps getting the brush off from me.

More films I must, must see are...

"The Devil Probably" (Bresson)
"Blow Up" (Antonioni)
"Mickey One" (Penn)
"Rules of The Game" (Renoir)
"Magnificent Ambersons" (Welles)
"Playtime" (Tati)
"Conformist" (Bertolucci)
"Shadows" "Husbands" and "Faces" (Cassavettes) I'm sure these films will be very inspiring. For the most part though, I am just waiting for some beautiful DVD transfers to come out, or a showing at a local alternate theater.

Maybe this belongs in the "Dorky Stuff" thread, but I actually have a list I typed of films I want to see. The list is in order by decade, and it's 9 pages long!

I won't bore you with the list here.

I would be quite happy never meeting the feebles ever again. That filmed scarred me for life.

I want to see so many films.....

Donnie Darko
LOTR: the return of the king
To Kill a Mockingbird
Twelve Angry Men
Night of the Hunter
This is Spinal Tap

Etc........

It is thanks to the Movie Forums I have seen some of the films I have. Being here has also encouraged me to try films I normally would not have bothered with, simply by the power of compelling recommendation by some of the members here.
