That's not anywhere near what my list would be...I do like how they got a little bit of everything in there, though.

Oasis above Led Zepp 4? I do NOT think so. Also, Sgt Pepper is way to low.

It's interesting to see how the acceptance of hip hop and rap has grown enormously during the last years. Not only do we have Eminem in Top 10 and another among the Top 50 but the importance and the influence that artists like Public Enemy and N.W.A. have had is obvious. It's cool that Oasis' debut album is higher up on the chart than What's the Story Morning Glory. The follow up used to be considered a masterpiece while Definately Maybe was merely a unusually strong debut. Finally people have realized that Definately Maybe is one of the best rock'n'roll albums ever recorded. It's also amazing to see how the impact of Nirvana hasn't yet faded as well as that my favourite The Stone Roses is in Top 10. The only Dylan album first at number 40; a bit surprising as well as Pet Sounds at position 99!

Overall, you can tell that the list is british.

They had temporarily escaped the factories, the warehouses, the slaughterhouses, the car washes - they'd be back in captivity the next day but now they were out - they were wild with freedom. They weren't thinking about the slavery of poverty. Or the slavery of welfare and food stamps. The rest of us would be all right until the poor learned how to make atom bombs in their basements.

Definetly Maybe has always been known, to most of the British Public anyway, as one of the best albums a British group has ever done. Standing on the Shoulders of Giants was a massive let down and people relised just how good DM was.

It is funny though how you can tell how much this list is British-based.

Oh, and if this is British, you can tell they have been considerate to US groups such as the Smashing Pumpkins, as over here they have never been 'big.'

Yep, It's from the british music magazine 'Q' as voted by it's readers.

You can see that the list is british since bands like Oasis, Radiohead, The Stone Roses, The Smiths, Coldplay, Manic Street Preachers, Primal Scream, Verve and other british bands are so well represented. By that I don't mean that I think the list is unfair or anything. I knew that Q is a british magazine..

That list is compleatly riuned by Eminem in there twice in the top 50, and Elvis being so far down on the list, And the omission On MoonDance By Van Morrisson

Aussies are not nearly represented enoght in the list, No ColdChisel, No Silverchair, No Living End. No Kylie and AcaDaca is so far down on the list

That list is so almost random, i can't take it all that seriously, and soooo many genuinely great albums are left off in favor of recent "hits." Some of the greatest albums of all time were made by bands nobody really listens to!

As the list was made by the public, I expect people do listen to these bands. Apart from a few on the list, I've been a fan of many of the albums here.

I know that people listen to the ones on the list! That isn't what I meant at all. The list is mostly obvious choices and more recent favorites, and a lot of great muscians aren't on it at all. that is all I meant.

Amen. And just for the record, Led Zeppelin's fourth album has no name, but I call it Led Zeppelin 4 too.
