Old movies you would like to see remade.

Something Wicked This Way Comes is the only thing I can think of that I would like to see a remake of . I thought the original movie was good, but it could have been great if they hadn't oversimplified things that were bigger in the book.

I said somewhere on this site I think Sorry Wrong Number can be remade to fix faults from the original.

A lot of average old movies can be remade.

Hell, I might support a remake of It Happened One Night.

I usually dislike remakes, because I've never seen a better version. The only one that was pretty good was Cape Fear. Besides that quality, I don't like how the newer film gets all the credit. I'm thinking of the film I saw yesterday, "The Manchurian Candidate" - I saw it before the remake, and now anytime mentions it, in person, or on a standup show, they only talk about the "one with Denzel" and the original isn't mentioned and probably not even noticed. A lot of films do a remake, and change the title also.

But for the sake of the thread, I say "Birdman of Alcatraz" because I know the title itself would bring people to watch it.. I just don't know an actor whose even close to Lancaster that could pull it off.
