How to watch anime correctly?
What about English dubbing AND Japanese subtitles?
Any word on the blind edition with the braille card included yet?

With Japanese animation you have to watch it with subtitles! You get so much more emotion and context from the characters and dialogue. This is especially true in anime shows like One Piece or Hunter x Hunter.

Depends on the anime, depends on the particular dub. The dubbed version of Ranma 1/2 I saw was funnier. Hate the newer dub of Akira that I heard but even though I prefer the Japanese version, I still have a soft-spot for the original English version (with a Ninja Turtle voice actor doing Kaneda). Giant Robo is pure camp in Japanese or English, but I slightly prefer the (original) English dub for Fabulous Fitzgerald's entrance scene. Macross: Do You Remember Love (with a title like that it's hard for me to get too worked up about fidelity to the Director's Vision) has to be seen at least once in its terrible British version.

It's not like when you read subtitles you miss that much. Just watch a bunch of films and you will get used to it.

Typical often-asked question, I know, but I'm honestly split between the different versions...
I started watching anime movies with the original japanese language audio track, and found myself missing out on lots of the great visuals while having to read subtitles in the bottom of the screen.
I then chose to watch anime with english audio, but then I began to feel I missed some of the magic and atmosphere that the original audio track gave me as that felt a lot more right for the type of movie and as the way it was intended.
So what to do? I know it's mostly up to personal preference and your own opinion, but I really don't know what to choose.

That's true for the most part, but shows with a lot of fast and complicated dialogue seem to be a trend nowadays, and stuff like The Tatami Galaxy (combination of fast-paced monologues with creative visuals) can really become an issue to follow.

You should never watch anime dubbed. It's awful.
Subs take a bit to get used to, but it's always better in the original language.

Japanese Audio.
Unless the particular anime is in an English/European setting. (Black Butler for example has an excellent English dub).

Watch anime with your pants on. You can do what you want ultimately, but if you don't I will be silently judging you.

Boku no Pico may be the stuff you might need! http://web.archive.org/web/200710121...-boku-no-pico/
I watched some hentai, it is mostly for the fun of it: so funny to watch people being raped by teddy bears who turn into muscular men who turn into tentacle monsters.

Anime has been exploring new themes in pornography since always, have you ever seen a porn animation made with MS Paint? Or a rape hentai with a Gainax'd (AKA troll) ending?

Do you have anything against pornography?

> some hot anime girls during the opening, thinks "what's wrong with it?"
> the reach around scene where the girls figure out to be boys
> Guap, you sick...
> then the actual anime starts and we see some normal hentai scenes
> wait, actually... I LIKE DAT
> wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, Guap, you slick bastard, THAT GIRL IS LIKE TEN
> wait, wait, wait, wait that ten year old girl is A BOY
> Guap you will pay for my psychiatric treatment
PS: I'm exaggerating, but I'm pretty sure this may be shocking for other people. I've seen worse, not in the form of anime, tho.
