Good idea liam. Sorry if you were ridiculed the last time. Hopefully this time people will be nicer and not spring an attitude. I'll work on my list, and I'm sure I'll have some childish/family movies on it.

By the way...nice list...
....and you're the first person I've seen mention Together anywhere. I LOVED this movie. It's a real heart warmer.

I found it interesting that the best film on your list of 100 wasn't close to a 10/10. What are you rating these against?

EDIT: Again, Beale needs to learn to read his posts. Had he actually put any time at all in reading, he would've found that the rating were those of IMDB.

man i hated "bringing up baby" in fact i couldnt stand it i had to leave the room, she just wouldnt stop screaming,i mean in every scene. And a shocking bit of news here 4 me "The Virgin Suicides" i never knew was direted by Sofia Coppola.i liked it more than lost in translation. why the hell was there so much hype over "translation" it follows the same movie formula for romantic comedies that every other b movie does.i liked it but the only reason it attracted so much attention at the oscars was because of her daddy i ust admit.

Top 100

I couldn't do this in order, I would just go completely crazy trying. Also, this is a list of films I like, not what I think are the best films ever. Stuff like Lawrence of Arabia, Kurosawa's stuff, and other such classics are absent, as I haven't seen them yet (I know, I know). I am also stunned that someone else listed Owl Creek Bridge. I am also well aware that some of the films on this list are total crap, but have touched me in some way at some point in my life.

*and how did LOTR: The Fellowship of the Ring (which I think is the best movie of the three) not even make the top hundred, when the second and third installments are in the top twelve??? Is the first movie so much weaker in your eyes it doesn't even rate in the eighty-eight films after them (but The Godfather Part III somehow does)?

Funny, I was just discussing my list with a friend about two days ago, and he brought up the same thing...
The answer... I dunno. It's not that I don't think Fellowship is a bad movie, it's just that I don't think it had the emotional impact (on me, that is) that the other two had. But if it stop your frustration, I would have put it in the top 105!

As for The Godfather Part III, I think it is a really good movie. Yeah, yeah... I know, Sofia Copolla... But I think it has some very powerful moments - powerful enough to make it to my top 100.
Any scene with Al Pacino & Andy Garcia is pure electric, the scene near the end when Michael's daughter is shot & he cries... Gives me goosebumps everytime. And even the ending, that a lot of people dislike, I really loved!

But, y'know... Different people, different opinions.

Some really good lists everyone!

Liam5000 -- I just dont know whats worst.

Someone who has never seen Clockwork Orange

Or

Someone who has seen Clockwork Orange and likes Bowling For Columbine or Fight Club more

I have extreme issues against Bowling For Columbine, not because Michael Moores issues are against my own (which they are) but because he is the most hypocritical, shallow, and irresponsible political figurehead since WWII. It disturbs me that people arent able to see through his shallow arguments and outright lies/editing, and it was even more disgusting that he accepted a documentary oscar over 4 (let alone the thousands that didnt get nominated ahead of him) more deserving people considering his film never followed any documentary rules.

Anyways, your list was actually pretty good, a couple of questionable decisions, which any good list should have because we arent reciting the gospel here.

BTW -- how did u watch Speed 2? Let alone give it 3 stars

Good point on Clockwork. Notice it strangely absent from my list as well. I consider A Clockwork Orange to be one of the most influential and well made films, well, ever. It is not, however, a favorite of mine. I find it very difficult to watch. This could very well be because it is just so bloody brilliant.

I know this can't possibly make sense to someone who loves watching this piece, and I will understand if you don't understand

I just spent 20 minutes typing out my top 100 movies, in order. But then, when I went to post, I guess the site timed me out and my info was lost. So, I'll repost my top 100 later.

This is just a tip that was passed along to me from a friend and it has prevented alot of headaches: Anytime you are going to post something on a web site or a forum that involves alot of time or work create it in a word processor then cut -n- paste, trust me it comes in handy.
