When Marnie was there 5/5. This movie, it just, I don't know, it was so beautiful without relying on being sappy. I love the characters, I love the animation, I love the story, the ending was incredible, it was all around just enjoyable. There might have been a few moments where I wish things weren't so unsolved while the film was happening, but the way it wrapped it all up, I can't even believe how good that was. The last scene with Marnie in it was just so wonderful. When Marnie was there just might be one of Studio Ghibli's crowning achievements. It manages to create great emotions without making you feel like it's being forced, or sappy, or stereotypical or anything other than the amazingness that it was. I have not enjoyed an animated film like that since The Wind Rises, which just proves how wonderful Studio Ghibli is. That film was simply a treat to watch, and I loved every second of it.
