Recommend me some foreign films

If you can understand spanish i recommend "La ley de Herodes" and "Matando Cabos", not sure how good they will be with subtitles or dubbed since they are both comedys and get most of their funny from the dialogue. But they are truly comedic gems in mexican cinema. Normaly im really a xenophobe with movies but these are wonderfull, particully the first one. Tells the story of how a witless low level burocrat who is in charge of garbage disposal is made mayor of a small town when the last one is killed and slowly learns the ropes of corruption and ends up a senator.

Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon is one of the best foreign films I've ever seen.

Along with Akira Kurosawa's Seven Samurai.

And the Studio Ghibli films are always worth watching, I would recommend Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away, Kiki's Delivery Service, and When Marnie Was There.

Now that I'm thinking about it, I like a lot of films from Japan and China.
