Ghostbusters II

Interesting to see how the slime in the movie might've looked had it been green like in many of the promotional materials as well as green being the traditional slime color. I think the pink slime worked better for some reason though, guess it just has a bit of a blood-like color to it which IMO makes it look more sinister.

Came to this cool picture and thought I'd share it:

Awesome take on the Army Of Darkness poster. As much as I love GB2, looking at that is a reminder of the finale being such a missed opportunity. The painting itself could've served as a portal for demonic forms from Vigo's world to intrude through and maybe the painting could've even taken over the entire interior of the museum, with the slime river flowing all around and the Ghostbusters having to take on the various creatures Vigo is commanding to attack before fighting him. The climax is the sole issue I've got with GB2, otherwise I think it's great.

Heads up for any others here who like GB2: The Blu-ray double set with both movies is coming out in a little over a week from now. The movies look amazing in 4K so far from the screenshots that have been released, they look brand new.

Got the digibook Blu-ray set with both films today, can't wait to see how both look in HD.
Happy 25th Anniversary Ghostbusters 2

Personally though I won't be buying the new edition of the film on DVD/Blu-ray. It's another cash in anyways. The extras are low and whatever there is there I already own or can just find elsewhere.

The train sequence always scared me as a kid, which is odd because as someone mentioned before this one seemed to be aimed more at kids than the original.

In all honesty, it fails to deliver on a lot of levels. It's not as clever, anti-climatic and re-uses the same sequences (Stay-Puff / Liberty). Murray seemed to be on auto-pilot and no one looks like they're having any fun. Sure the film is great when you're a kid, but as you get older, you start to see the cracks.

I just hope they don't try with a third.

I'm an adult who's only a few years off of being 30 and I still find it to be a great movie and just as entertaining as the first. Is it flawless? Of course not. Could it have been better? Yes, there's some things I would've done differently. Is it still a good movie? For me, definitely.

Those are pretty interesting to see, though I could see why those were cut, probably for pacing issues more than anything. Still a bit disappointed not all of the deleted scenes that have been reported over the years (like possessed Ray driving the Ecto-1A) weren't included.

The recent news of the reboot has me more than ever wanting to see this series left alone at the two films. I bet if/when it gets made and ends up enraging so many fans this movie will be looked in a far better light.
