It's a different take on the housing crisis, showing both sides and bringing a conscience to bear on the subject. Having Garfield be both a victim and taking advantage of the corrupt system was fascinating. Shannon showed just enough humanity to make his character more complex. The movie mostly played out as a thriller.

For some reason I instantly thought of Garfrield, the cat when I read this and had a mind-block when I tried imagining all the stuff mark wrote above existing in a cartoon with that lasagna-loving layabout.
