Christ Symbolism in U Turn?

I just watched Oliver Stone's U Turn last night and I was curious if anyone else found any Christ symbolism in it. I definitely did, but I checked a bunch of reviews and found nothing indicating it. Am I just chasing ghosts or is there something there?

Yeah, I thought it was. Typical Oliver Stone cinematography. If nothing else check out the acting by Sean Penn and Jennifer Lopez, and especially Billy Bob Thornton.
