Jon Favreau - "Dinner For Five"

Has anyone seen this weekly show on the Independent Film Channel? I just started watching it, and it's very entertaining. Any thoughts?

I love the show, but unfortunately have only seen one episode in its entirity. Because my retarded cable company doesn't provide IFC, the only episode I saw begining to end was one that was aired on its sister network, Bravo, as part of their "IFC Fridays". Saw a couple snippets various times when visiting a friend who's cable service provides IFC, but never more than a minute or two.

In the episode I did see, Favreau's guests were Vince Vaughn (of course), Peter Falk (another no-brainer, as he appeared in Made, Jon's directorial debut), "SNL"s Cheri Oteri and Mister Gary Shandling. Shandling was quick and fu*king hysterical, as always, and Falk was endlessly entertaining. The give and take between Jon and Vince is as effortless and amusing as you'd expect. Oteri didn't say much, but that was fine by me since I've never really liked her.

If they ever released episodes on DVD, I'd scoop 'em up in a heartbeat. Oh to have The Independent Film Channel. I currently get The Sundance Channel, but would gladly swap for IFC.

This coming Monday's episode (May 13th, 8:00pm) features Kevin James ("King of Queens"), Ray Romano ("Everybody Loves Raymond"), Sean Astin (Samwise in LOTR) and Bonnie Hunt. I absolutely ADORE Bonnie Hunt, I think she's brilliant and immensely funny. Anybody with the channel want to tape it for me? Hoops? I've got a copy of One Crazy Summer for ya. "Save HER!"

HP-

I've seen two episodes. The first one had Kevin Pollack, Ron Livingston, and two people that I don't recall their names. The second one had Andy Dick, Marilyn Manson, and Daryl Hannah. I love hearing these people tell their behind the scenes stories.

I guess I could probably tape it for you. Would you rather me try to tape a few episodes on one tape and then send it? Just shoot me an email if you're interested.

Kevin Pollak is one of my all-time favorites as well. Got to see him live doing his hilarious stand-up back in January. That was the second time, as I saw him in the early '90s too.
