Help me ID this movie..

Help me ID this movie please. I only have vague memories of it though, but maybe someone remembers.

It was in the 80's when I saw it, but I remember an alien that throws some kind of flying disk that sticks to you and has little appendages that burrow into you.
I remember it killed a troop of boyscouts in the wilderness, and I remember the alien throwing a disk and it hits the windshield of a car.
That is all I remember...

Any help would be grateful.

There is also another movie I saw a looong time ago and only remember VERY vague part of the movie.
I remember some people floating down a river trying to escape a crazy murderer, and they were searching the river bank when they floated right by him/her. He/she was camoflaged to look like one of the boulders.
I know, very very vague, but maybe it will spark a memory in someone.

Thanks

only thing i can think of from the 80s with an alien throwing discs about is dolph lundgren, matthias hues actioner dark angel [different name in u.s. i think]he had a tube that extended from his wrist to collect something from the human body that was the equivalent of a drug to his species

It was called I Come in Peace when I saw it. Not sure why they felt the need to change the title but whatever. Its been years and I don't recall if the alien kills a bunch of boy scouts or not.

I actually think the film you're talking about could be 'Without Warning' aka 'It Came Without Warning' from 1980, and starring Jack Palance.

If what you say about the disks burrowing into people is true, it's much more likely to be that film. Plus 'Without Warning' also takes place in the wilderness, whereas 'Dark Angel' was set in the city.

Below is a clip of 'Without Warning', skip to 3.26 to see the discs in action. I'm pretty sure it's the film you mean.
