Lead actress unknown to me is very good.

So did her Aussie friend sleep with her husband as an escort without knowing it was Alice’s husband? Where did they run off together? New Zealand? Did they turn out to be gay?

I don’t think they ended up being gay; it’s more like ‘liberation from toxic men’. I don’t think we’re told explicitly where they ran off to, but somewhere warmer than France for sure.

I think you’re right and her friend didn’t know it was Alice’s husband. That was my reading.

Aussie friend had mentioned NZ, which is how I came up with that.

Alice has run off with their son. Hope her husband doesn’t find her even though he loves his son too.

Quite enjoying this. Such a gem.

In a sentence, what’s it about?

I guess my taste is awful, but I love this.

It’s about a journalist who ceases to be impartial after a teacher he liked gets killed. A pretty interesting take on journalism.

How strange I’ve never heard of this. Probably because NY TIMES hasn’t gotten to it yet.
Huge fan of Jake & I’m sure I’ll like this.

It’s no high art, but very entertaining. In the U.K. it was only released yesterday. I’m also a huge fan of Jake, and he’s had to do so much prep for this.

It’s fine to be entertaining. I don’t need a diet of high art.
