Movie with what seem unrelated events that comes together at the end

For years I have been trying to find the name of a movie I once saw (1980s or 1990s) that appeared to be largely made up of a series of unrelated events eg. main male character driving around a town with a body in the boot ; a young woman trying to rob a pharmacy; someone getting run over by a car; a scene at a cemetery. etc.

From memory the movie was set at night.
At the end of the movie all the events are tied together in chronological order.
Any and all help appreciated.
