You’re wrong.

An atheist doesn’t believe in God.

A Pagan believes and worships the devil. Please don’t let me back it up with quotes.

Shinobi, you are right and wrong. A Pagan can believe and worship the devil, but that is not the full extent. Pagan derives from paginus which is Latin for countryman. Read this from dictionary.com

"Usage: Pagan, Gentile, Heathen. Gentile was applied to the other nations of the earth as distinguished from the Jews. Pagan was the name given to idolaters in the early Christian church, because the villagers, being most remote from the centers of instruction, remained for a long time unconverted. Heathen has the same origin. Pagan is now more properly applied to rude and uncivilized idolaters, while heathen embraces all who practice idolatry"

First, I think religious movies are neccessary. Many of our lives are revolved around religion either directly or indirectly. Chirstopher Columbus sailed to the "New World" because of religious differences. ALL of history is basically revolved around religion. Just because I say religion, I dont mean "Christianity," I mean every religion. Boondock Saints was a good movie, I bet you agree, it was a religious movie. No offense, and I'm not judging you, but most of you probably would say its ok to haev Boondock Saints and not The Passion because one is a true story and one is not. Just about every religion says something about a man from Galilee named Jesus and who calls himself the Son of God, King of the Jews, ect...

Beleive what you want about who he is, but he lived! The Passion is a movie to show the last 12 hours of his life. He was persecuted by his own people and they were given the choice to crusify him or a man that continually robbed people. The movie is based on the last 3 or 4 chapters of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John in the bible. You can't beleive part of the bible and not the whole thing. The movie also flashbacks to other times in his life to show miracles he had performed. Whatever you beleive, this movie is meant to show that Jesus died for all of our sins and there is no way to get to heaven, but except through him.

Why believe in Hell and not Heaven?!?

How come its "intolerence" when you speak for God,
but "freedom of speech" when you speak against him?

I wipe my ass with your feelings
Religious movies rule. They always rule. When they say their prayers and go out to fight.

Good examples:

Face/Off - Last couple of seens. Sean (now Troy) walks in and says his prayer. The religious symbology always give off this piece of hope, that good will raise their hands in victory.

Boondock Saints - You get the idea.

When you come to movies such as Passion of the Christ...it's more like an episode on the History channel.

Religion is reassurance of what happenes after death. Nothing else, nothing more.

If you're an athiest and don't respect another person's religion, shove a fire cracker in your ass and light it up. You're truly not an ******* if you don't have one.

You're friendly neighborhood person who comes to your BBQ's with out presents,
me.

I'm back, un-n00bified.
They aren't necessary, well... basicly it is a normal movie. But when it comes out all these christians and jews and stuff get all hyped up and people beg other people to see the stupid things, and it is on the news for weeks. 3 hours of somebody getting whipped isn't worth paying $8.00 for. They have no point to them so they are not necessary.

You may be right, wez, they are normal movies. Religious movies are not produced by deities. However, they do have points, to tell a story and make money. I think you are simply annoyed by the fact that people ask other people to see it. Myself? I feel like screaming when people try to get me to see movies like Chicago and Moulin Rouge. Are those movies really necessary? No. However, they have a point too, to make money like all other movies.

Randomly visiting for now
Yeah well a lot of people liked the movie "The passion ... ", so it obviously was wanted by the community. It was something interesting to see, was quite rare and unusual among big hollywood films and that's what all good movies are like. And when you ask is religion necessary well obviously seeing as people the world over are religious, because religion brings happiness and a sense if belonging in this messed up world to millions.

Someone asked why just show Jesus' death and not his whole life, well simply his death was the most important part stupid and that's what everyone wants to see. Of course there are some movies already made about his life but they never made much money or were great films in and of themselves. Just an opinion, same as everyone else.

First of all, the Passion of Christ, by definition of its name, is simply the story of how he died. If the movie was called, The Life and Passion of Jesus Christ, then it would have made sense to show his life as well as how he died. The title of the movie fit the content, so it shouldn't have fooled anyone. If people want to see his life story so badly, then maybe it just shows that another religious movie is necessary.
