A novel adaptation.
I believe that would have to be the Maltese Falcon.

El Topo (1970)

Oh, but El Topo was a snap?

My last one was from The Crusie (1998), the documentary on insane motormouth and sometimes tour guide Tim "Speed" Levitch, who some will know from his roto-scoped appearance in Richard Linklater's Waking Life (2002).

"Me and you got a lot in common, Phillip. Both of us is handsome devils, we both like RC Cola, and neither one of us has got an old man worth a damn."

I was thinking The Cruise, but i couldn't remember that line in it. good one though. the other one is from:

A Perfect World (Clint Eastwood - 1993)

"I can't sleep. Get me a chicken. I want to make another sacrifice. We'll do it ourselves."

here is more from that movie:

"This isn't really my building... it's my partner's... I just took the call and came right over... I have to leave town in an hour or so anyway..."

ok so that is all from that movie...
heres one from one of my all time favorites
"Ok i will take your money in adavance and if a slot opens up i will sit ur little snot on my lap during the show."

well since you give up. it was Being Human (Bill Forsyth 1993). you should check it out

I hated Being Human, and am glad I managed to wipe it from my mind.

And I love Bill Forsyth too! I've probably seen Local Hero thirty-five times, Breaking In upwards of twenty times, and Gregory's Girl at least a dozen. That's why I was extra stunned by how awful Being Human was. Egads.

But it was a stumper alright.

I'm not sure that's verbatim, but I'll assume it's from Death to Smoochy (d. Danny DeVito, 2002) and move on:

"The situation couldn't be clearer. But what's not clear is the part I'll be playing."

Bande à Part

'Cause you gotta make a choice: when to do something, and when to let it go. When it matters, and when it don't. Bide your time. That's what prison teaches you, if nothing else. Bide your time, and everything becomes clear, and you can act accordingly.

The Limey (d. Steven Soderbergh, 1999)

"You know, this is the way we eat in America. I got my meat, I got my potatoes, I got my vegetables, I got my dessert, and I don't even have to wash the dishes."

A Map of the World (d. Scott Elliott, 1999)

"Don't laugh with your mouth open. It's too rustic."

That's from Heavenly Creatures (d. Peter Jackson, 1994), isn't it?

"I've just decided to switch our Friday schedule to Monday, which means that the test we take each Friday, on what we learned during the week, will now take place on Monday, before we've learned it. But, since today is Tuesday, it doesn't matter in the slightest."

Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (1971)

Here is another:

What? What the f*** do you know about the third world? You been there? No? No, well, I have. f***ers live like sardines in a can over there, you know. Everything stinks. It's true, there's no, you know, law, no order. No nothing. The a$$holes come over here, they think it's gonna be the same.
